The way to real change is neither demonstrations nor the politician election ballot box

Posted by John Reed on

I see no need to demonstrate. I actually do not care for demonstrations and never participated in one. In his book By the People, Charles Murray set for rules for which regulations to violate. I do not recall Murray saying word one about demonstrations. The civil rights movement got disproportionate help from whites who DID have a lot to lose, like presidential candidate JFK calling MLK, jr. when he got arrested.I recall a made-for-TV movie in which whites in a poor neighborhood were terrorized by black gang members. A retired machinist played by Martin Balsam used his machinist skills do...

We do NOT need to accept the results of the election and we can do that legally

Posted by John Reed on

Mark Christoph said, “Whether they accept it or not is irrelevant because nothing will change unless they riot in the streets nationwide. ”.I think there are things short of rioting in the streets that can be done. Boycott the biased media out of existence or at least to a much smaller Internet-only role. .Charles Murray’s book By the People offers an intriguing approach. The Right sort of does what the Left did in the Civil Rights era: refuse to comply with regulations..The government is like a shepherd. It can only be successful if the people are like sheep. What if...

My brother-in-law’s triplex now being marketed in Boston area

Reader comments on The Unelected President novel

Posted by John Reed on

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed The Unelected President, which I finally read this past week. I couldn't put it down! And given what's going on in Ukraine right now, I probably couldn't have picked a more relevant time to read it. I find myself thinking "What Would Medlock Do?" Kenneth Goldman.I'm enjoying your novel. To be honest I put off getting it because I wasn't sure that your nonfiction style would translate well to fiction. But I'm about 150 pages in and enjoying the story. It is well written and thought provoking. And more humor than...

This is the adequate change we need in government

Posted by John Reed on

The Unelected President Mike Medlock says his head tax is flatter than the Flat Tax and fairer than the Fair Tax. He also notes that the head tax has no tax return at all compared to the postcard-sized return touted by others. With the head tax, all the government need to know is the date you were born and the date you died. The people decide how much tax they will pay Also, the amount of the head tax would be decided by the people annually in a binding national referendum. It is extremely crucial that the people vote for...
