On UN Security Council Resolution 2334

Posted by John Reed on

I just did something no one else in America has done apparently. I read the UN Security Council Resolution most Americans and Israelis are in a road rage about. Here it is: http://www.un.org/webcast/pdfs/SRES2334-2016.pdf Most readers will probably find it easier to read the Wikipedia synopsis: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Security_Council_Resolution_2334 This is a non-binding censure of Israel for deliberately moving over 100,000 Israelis just since Obama’s 2008 inauguration and a total of 570,000 Israelis since 1967 into territory captured by Israel in the 1967 Six-Day War. That flagrantly violates international law, namely the Fourth Geneva Convention, Part III, Article III, Section 49 which prohibits...

I recommend The Perfect Pass book by S.C. Gwynne

If you pay any attention to NCAA football, you know that some teams have thrown one hell of a lot of passes in recent years. It’s called the “Air Raid” offense. Two guys were mainly behind that: Hal Mumme and Rick Leach. Leach never played college football. He was a lawyer. He just helped revolutionize it. I knew Hal and Rick. Phillip Rivers spikitis may have caused loss

Posted by John Reed on

My son Dan says I need to write about a clock mistake made today by Phillip Rivers, the SD QB..:35 left first down. Chargers down by 3. They made the first down with an inbounds play so the game clock is running. Rivers spikes the ball to stop the clock..That’s wrong. You only spike the ball when you do not have enough time to use your remaining downs. For example, if you have first down with :12 left and the game clock running, you spike the ball to stop the clock because you have four downs and :12 is only...

Just say no to the notion that terrorist kills civilians means we must set our hair on fire

Posted by John Reed on

Today’s terror attacks are further evidence of what I recently said. I don’t understand the Middle East and I don’t think anyone does, even those who were born and raised there.  As part of his impersonation of a world leader, Putin intervened in a civil war in Syria. When my Unelected President is asked about our getting involved in Syria in my novel of that name, he rejects the idea out of hand. The novel is set in the period January through April, 2013. If I write a sequel, getting into the period where Putin decided to prop up Syria,...
