Why you should buy one of my coaching books as a gift for a football or baseball player or parent of a player

I have written ten books on football and baseball coaching. Some who buy them are not coaches, but are just PARENTS of players or FANS of the sport..I think another group should read those books: PLAYERS and PARENTS who want to help their player. My son Dan played football from age 8 to age 22 ending as a tailback in the Ivy League. A month after he graduated from Columbia, he started helping me coach our neighborhood Monte Vista High School freshman team..About a month into that coaching, he observed that he would have been a much better PLAYER had...
‘I wish I had this when I was young.’

I am getting a lot of book sales these days—xmas gifts I assume. My Succeeding book is one of the top sellers. It is given to young people—late teens and twenties and mature-for-their-years younger teens. The younger you are, the more years you get to benefit from the book and the better start you get off to. About the real world On the other hand, the book is about the real world, which almost makes it unique in the field. The problem with really young readers of Succeeding is they have not yet interacted with the real world. They are naive....
Japan finally allows immigration, we should allow more

I have noted a number of times that the far East seems to be the most racist place on earth, not the U.S. even though we keep beating ourselves up about it—or at least the Democrat business model beats us up about it. . I have cited the Japanese word gaijin which means foreigner but like the n-word means African-American. I have also cited the fact that immigration to Japan is near impossible. There are other bits of evidence like Japanese parents immediately searching to see if their child’s fiance has any Korean blood. Koreans are Untermencsh to Japanese. ....
GPS or a compass could save you in a wildfire

Upon further review of the escape from a wildfire question, some thoughts. There are at least three dangers: smoke blindness, heat, and lack of oxygen to breathe or poison gases. Many photos of the fires indicate no blindness due to smoke in many cases. Sometimes the smoke rises from the heat of the fire. Sometimes the wind direction takes it toward and sometimes away from you. Blinded by smoke But you can be blinded by smoke. One salvation might be GPS in your car, lap top, iPad, or your cell phone. I commented when I first got my Lexus LC...
George H.W. Bush and Mitt Romney were absentee, not great fathers
Posted by John T. Reed on
I also keep hearing that G.H.W Bush was a great father, the world’s best father. Bull! And I said the same about Romney. How so? How would I know better than their own children? If you pay close attention to the children of G.H.W. Bush or Romney, you will hear the profound contradiction. To be a good father, you must be present—duh Their fathers were often absent—REAL often and REAL absent. 100 hours a week and travel Romney and I are Harvard MBAs. After graduation in 1975, the year I entered, he worked for Boston Consulting Group,...
