John T. Reed’s self-publishing background

John T. Reed has been a published author since 1976, a published book author since 1978, and a self-publisher since the late 1970’s. Virtually all of his income comes from home-office based, family, self-publishing business.

His first book was published by Harcourt Brace Jovanovich. All of his subsequent books were self-published. A number of other publishers including Simon & Schuster, McGraw-Hill, Coaches Choice, Dearborn, and Hume, have solicited Reed to write books for them.

Reed’s books were distributed to brick-and-mortar and Internet book stores nationwide for twenty years. He now distributes his books solely through his Web site: www.johntreed.com. Reed has appeared on numerous TV and radio programs including 60 Minutes, Good Morning America, and Larry King Live.

He was quoted in the national news media about once a week as a result of his writings for many yeaars. Many of Reed’s books have gone through many editions, including his second book, which is now in its 20th edition.

Reed’s books cover six genres of how-to information: real estate investment, football coaching, baseball coaching, self-publishing, hyperinflation/deflation protection, and succeeding. Reed also wrote and published Real Estate Investor’s Monthly, a nationwide how-to newsletter, from 1986 to 2018.

Before that, he wrote for a similar newsletter published for nine years by Harcourt Brace Jovanovich. Reed also bought out a number of other real estate newsletters. Reed holds a Bachelor of Science degree from West Point and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
