Wall Street Journal continues to try to spin high home appreciation rates as bad news.

Nicole Friedman, the WSJ's home price appreciation denier has an article titled "Home Prices Suffer a Monthly Decline.".Finally, she has the price drop she has been propagandizing for..Only she doesn't. She has mastered Biden arithmetic. When inflation went from 8.2% to 8.3% (12- month moving average), really old Joe said inflation was just .1%..Normally, the home price numbers reported are 12-month moving averages, to get a downer Nicole changes to reporting a one-month "moving average." If you just compare the Case-Shiller index for July to the one for June, it dropped .3%. If you seasonally adjust it, which you should...
The Wall Street Journal continues trying to bad mouth home values even though they keep going up

Friday's WSJ anti-home article reports on a diminution in luxury homes sold per month and an increase in days on market. That is Realtor news. What about home buyer/seller news, like prices? .You gotta get to paragraph 14 to see them admit "While [yadda yadda], prices are still holding firm..." Would you believe 20.3% increase in prices in the last year?.I wonder how many Journal luxury home readers committed suicide before they read about the 20.3% increase. Probably not as many as the Journal hoped..The article got a prices-will-decline quote out of a Redfin economist, so all is not lost...
The Big Picture TV show about about a fictional West Point cadet named John Reed, same as me. I caught hell for it at West Point.

Recently I found that my link to the Big Picture episode about a fictional West Point cadet named John Reed—same as my name—no longer worked. However, I just linked to MacArthur’s farewell speech at West Point and found the “John Reed” recruiting film again:.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrTD3gofzr4.I caught extra hell from having the same name as this guy when I was a New Cadet in 1964. Three years later when another New Cadet named John Reed entered West Point, they apparently deliberately put him in the platoon of which I was platoon sergeant for his first month as a New Cadet in July...
Browns lost to the Jets because of a clock-management screw-up—tell the Browns’ media
Posted by John Reed on
My son Dan says I should look at the clock management screw-up in the Browns-Jets game yesterday. I wrote the book on that: Football Clock Management. . https://johntreed.com/collections/football-coaching-books/products/football-clock-management-5th-edition-book-by-john-t-reed.Mkay..Browns 24 Jets 17The Browns were ahead and had 1st & 10 at the Jets 12 at 2:02. Jets just used their last timeout..The Browns scored a 12-yard running TD on the next play. The ball carrier should not have scored. When he crossed the two-yard line, he had gotten another first down, and, by gaining that first down put his team in the take-a-knee period..My pertinent rule is my Rule #3.01 which...
Stop using the word “strategic” on things like small islands and canals. Too easy for ICBMs to destroy.

Beijing bought the Solomon Islands, sort of. They are now refusing to let US and allied military ships visit there. . The WSJ says those islands are "strategic citing the 1942 landings on Guadalcanal there. . 1. When we landed there then, the Japanese controlled them. In war, might decides who uses them, not some payment made by someone years before. 2. More importantly, what the hell strategic value does a Sourh Pacific island have in 2022? I keep saying surface navy ships have been obsolete since about 1955 because of long range bombers and missiles. Same applies to needing...
